We have been rather busy the last few days with the snow and this has really given as great chance to absolutely hammer your system, and I am pleased to report it responded very well, it has a very streamlined and user friendly interface, even our responders have found it easy to use.

SARSYS has been implemented within our team for the last 12 months and it has revolutionised the way we manage our searches and mobilise our team. The app itself is user friendly and easy for all to use and find their way around with minimal familiarisation training. The system is far more than just another app though, it is continuously being developed and the team at SARStuff are always looking for feedback and implementing suggestions they are given in order to improve the functionality. For planners, the system guides you through the planning process in a systematic way that aligns with the Lowland Rescue five-step process. The system is also auditable in that it allows a traceable timeline of events to be recorded and stored securely so that it can be looked back at, at any time. We regularly utilise the external access feature that allows the POLSA to review our work remotely in real time ensuring they have access to accurate and up to date information relevant to the search. This feature can also be used to pass all relevant search information to partner teams arriving to assist on a search via an easy to use QR code. Overall, SARSYS is a very reliable and easy to use system which has been integrated into the daily running of our team seamlessly.

SARSYS is a real game changer when it comes to search management, from calling out the team, planning the areas and routes to allocating resources SARSYS does it all. The passage of information is the key innovation, the Search Planner can be sat at home seamlessly sharing scenarios with the Search Manager in the RVP who in turn is sharing tasks and intelligence with the searchers on the ground. All actions are recorded contemporaneously along with all information inputted and stored securely and any external agencies such as the Police can be given access to see everything happening remotely and in real time. The support provided by the SARStuff team is excellent, particularly with regards to tweaks or suggestions for new features. It really helps that lead developer is a member of a busy SAR team meaning that they fully understand the requirements and why a reliable management system is important.

Essex RAYNET

We have been using SARStuff's TeamSite and SARsys CAD system for several months. During this time, it has not only changed the way the group operates but how we send out information and updates to our members, be it to deploy them to support events or a major incident.  

The web app has also made it easier for our members to communicate with the Duty Controller and keep their location and status during an event or deployment updated, with the additional benefit of reducing radio traffic during deployments, allowing for quicker and easier responses from our members. DC4x4R often operate in fast-changing situations, and so this flow of communication is vital to the operation of the group.

 

Training members in the use of the systems is very easy with positive feedback from members, saying how easy the system is to use.

SARStuff is fast becoming an effective and necessary element in the day-to-day operation of the organisation.
